He’s best known among students for his unkempt eyebrows, shabby vestments, and lectures filled with long and inexplicable pauses. The story is set in 1938, with Hitler poised to invade Poland and “Wit” teaching philosophy in Cambridge, England. Luckily, Wit in Love quickly gets more interesting, exploring the emotional flowering of a hidebound rationalist who finally learns the joys of romance.
